Uber Haus recently spent some time in the lovely home of Richard and Christelle Marrier d’Unienville. We took their home, specifically their main ensuite bedroom and their kitchen, and turned their aspirations into reality. In 2015, we focused on the couple’s bedroom and this year we were given the opportunity to give their kitchen a fresh new look. The result: an exceptionally successful project via our turn-key service.

The Ensuite Bedroom

Richard and Christelle wanted their bedroom to be the epitome of bright, airy and relaxed. They decided it was time for a much-needed transformation. To introduce a soft tone, contrasting the stark white of the room, we chose to combine a mix of high-gloss white 2K paint for durability along with oiled oak accents – the room transformed into a leisurely sight. The carcass material used was a rich Scandinavian Birch Ply, attaining maximum water resistance, as well as creating a natural interior mood.

Our manufactured floating pedestals, situated on either side of the bed, as well as the media unit,  were the finishing touches (the je ne sais quoi, as we say) in this space. This look accomplished the bright and airy feel the couple was looking for.

At Uber Haus, we design and manufacture a range of luxurious bathroom vanities – which you can conveniently browse and shop on our website. With the opportunity to have one of our vanities installed in their ensuite bathroom, Richard and Christelle had some hefty decision making to do, as each piece of furniture has its own style and distinctive personality. They chose one to compliment their style, with simplicity and elegance.

The Walk-in Cupboard

The walk in cupboard, a space that is only but a dream to many, was an element that we couldn’t pass up executing. The cupboard utilises an imported German adjustable system with the layout of cabinets, hanging rails and shelves. This system is fully customisable and suited to however the couple love to keep their things sorted and stored.

The Kitchen

The kitchen, often called the heart of the home, should always be up to date in terms of style and design. The kitchen revamp was designed by Scott and Kyle, and continues the contemporary theme of the couple’s bedroom – airy, bright and relaxed. Again, white was the colour of choice, but this time with a softer, satin sheen finish. The design of the two areas corresponds throughout the house, from the bedroom to the kitchen. This is because of the beautifully organic solid oak and veneered oak accents that run throughout. Tall units are framed in oak, emphasising their height and depth, whilst all the kitchen cabinets are made from Scandinavian Birch Ply for the ultimate in durability and longevity.

The kitchen utilises innovative Hettich Architec drawer systems, Kessebohmer pantry pullouts and Lemans corner units. Nifty drawer lighting spotlights the cutlery trays and custom spice drawer. The custom utensil drawer provides an easily accessible option to find your cooking utensils. We utilised a Linero cutlery wall system, making it convenient to grab those all important cooking implements.

The PITT Cooking system

The imported PITT Cooking system, which was supplied and installed by Uber Haus, is a dramatic statement in the newly done up cooking area. This system allows the gas burners to sit individually within the stone top without a base plate – giving the room a powerful and dramatic effect!

The Blanco Sinks

The sink area incorporates three Blanco sinks, each supplied by Uber Haus. The area includes a Blanco tap and a soap dispenser. The contrast of the striking, dark sinks against the worktops creates an impressive statement, particularly with the distinctive, milled drainage grooves. Our Uber Haus team also designed and manufactured a custom drip tray, which sits behind the sinks.

The Lighting

The lighting for the main kitchen area was supplied by Sutherlands, who design luxury accessories for modern homes.  Uber Haus installed the custom-made bulkhead over the breakfast bar providing additional downlighting and an attractive ambience.

Straight out of a magazine? We think not! This house is authentic, contemporary and absolutely particular to the couple which inspired it.
